Navitas Environmental Materials . . .

Our current project in St. Albans is specified to run on Low Grade Wood Waste.

It is estimated by industry reports that the UK generates up to 7 million tonnes of low grade wood waste per annum. Due to the recognised lack of outlets to recycle or recover this low grade wood the majority of it is either used or disposed of in landfill.

Due to current legislation the most suitable use for the low grade wood is its recovery for the purpose of generating green electricity. At Navitas we are focusing our efforts in providing a sustainable outlet and alternative to landfill for low grade wood. Although our proposed plant in St Albans will only take wood waste, below are examples of materials that can be recovered at other biomass plants:

Wastes for Biomass Plants

Wood & wood waste (Grade A & Low Grade B, C)
Wood by-product waste (MDF dust etc)
Green/Garden Waste
Energy crop biomass
Compost oversize
Straw and hay etc

Other Process Wastes for EfW Plants

Municipal waste (MSW)(SRF)(RDF)
