'green' energy project to go ahead

Press Release - 08 June 2010

Pauline O'Brien, Director for Navitas Environmental, said: "We welcome the decision by Hertfordshire County Council, the planning authority, that permission should be granted for the Biomass Facility at Appspond Lane. The proposed Biomass development will be an improvement on the current, consented activities on site and will take waste wood, primarily from Hertfordshire, transforming it into 'green' electricity while reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

"We of course must wait for the Council to consult the Secretary of State over the planning decision, and see this referral as a formality which we hope will be completed soon. We believe our Biomass proposal is of great benefit to the local area, Hertfordshire and the environment as a whole, as the need to increase the use of renewable energy resources is of high importance."

. . . Navitas wants to be an intrinsic part of the UK energy supply chain, fueling itself for a green future . . .
