Navitas Environmental submits planning application for state-of-the-art biomass facility. . .

Press Release - 03 November 2009

The company planning to develop a biomass facility in Potters Crouch, Hertfordshire, has submitted its planning application and is calling on local residents to come forward if they have any comments about the project.

Navitas Environmental submitted a planning application to Hertfordshire County Council following a wide range of public consultation, but is still keen to hear from local residents who may have any unanswered questions.

During the summer Navitas Environmental held a series of public exhibitions, and the feedback from these was taken into account when preparing the planning application for the facility. Now the company has established a Community Liaison Panel (CLP) to represent the local community's views regarding the proposal and to address any concerns that may arise throughout the planning process.

. . . Navitas wants to be an intrinsic part of the UK energy supply chain, fueling itself for a green future . . .

Navitas Environmental Director, Mike Pusey, said: "The proposed plant represents a fantastic opportunity for Navitas to be part of the drive to reduce the UK's carbon footprint. We are really keen to continue to engage with the local community and stakeholders to explain the project and listen to their ideas. The feedback we have received has been invaluable for putting together our planning application."

The first CLP meeting was held in early September, where issues and concerns which were raised at the public exhibitions were discussed. The panel continue to meet bi-monthly and welcome any feedback or comments from the local community. To find out more information about the panel and to voice your feedback, please contact your local representative: Ralph Rayner - Leverstock Green, at office@lgva.freeserve.co.uk or Don Hocking - Potters Crouch, at donhocking@gmail.com or Maxine Crawley at MaxineCrawley@aol.com.

The full planning application can be found on the Navitas website at www.navitasenvironmental.co.uk.
